Tools
The tools to run signal-based outbound.
You can build it from five tools and a spreadsheet, or run it in one system. Here is what each route really costs, and what to check before you pay for anything.

The short answer
Signal-based outbound needs four jobs done every day: capturing signals, qualifying people against your ICP, researching each one, and writing and sending a personal message. Teams often stitch this together from Sales Navigator, Clay, ChatGPT, a sending tool and Zapier, which costs around $750 a month and breaks often. Valley does all four jobs in one product, starting at $149 a seat a month billed quarterly.
The do-it-yourself stack.
| Job | Usual tool | What goes wrong |
|---|---|---|
| Find people and signals | Sales Navigator, a scraper, a visitor-ID tool | Exports, not a daily feed. Signals arrive stale. |
| Enrich and qualify | Clay or a spreadsheet | Credit-hungry, and someone has to maintain the table |
| Research and write | ChatGPT prompts | Generic output unless someone babysits every message |
| Send and follow up | A LinkedIn sender or email sequencer | Knows nothing about why this person is on the list |
| Glue | Zapier | One step fails quietly and the whole pipe stops |
It works, and plenty of good teams run it. The cost is not the ~$750 a month. It is that one of the five breaks every week, and the person who fixes it is usually the founder or the best rep.
What to look for in signal-based outbound software.
- Daily signal capture, built in. Profile viewers, post engagers and competitor engagers at minimum, pulled automatically.
- Qualification you can read. It should tell you why someone was kept or dropped, against an ICP you wrote.
- Research before writing. If the tool writes without reading anything about the person, you are buying templates.
- Your voice, not its voice. Messages should sound like your best ones, learned from them.
- Approval control. You should be able to review every message, or let them flow once you trust it. Never a black box with your name on it.
- Account safety. Sending inside LinkedIn's limits, per account, with the vendor standing behind it.
- A reply-rate number you can check. Ask what it is a rate of.
Where Valley fits.
Valley is an AI outbound platform that finds the people most likely to buy from you, from live buying signals, natural-language search, or your own lists, qualifies them against your ICP, researches each one, and sends personalised messages that get 15-45% reply rates, against a category average of about 2%.
Signals, included
Profile viewers, post engagers, competitor engagers, followers and website visitors. Or describe your buyer in plain English and search.
Most get thrown out
Every person is scored against your ICP. You only message the top slice.
Researched, in your voice
Each message is written from research on the person, in a voice learned from your own messages.
You approve
Review every message, or let them flow. Not an agent you hand your account to.

What Valley is not
Not a volume sender. No mailbox farms, no warmup, no blasting. Not an autonomous agent you hand outbound to and never check. Not for anyone who wants to stop looking at their outbound. If that's what you want, an agency is a better fit. If you want fewer, better conversations that you stay in control of, this is what Valley is built for.
